Today i didn't really have much to do so i decided to go to Yarmouth for a bus ride, vehicle that took me there was 37572 AU58 ECW, she was working the 1142 from James Paget to Caister route 8.
As i got to Yarmouth i then saw 37575 AU58 ECZ also on route 8, all together there are 4 buses on the 8 on a Sunday, today there were 37572 AU58 ECW, 37575 AU58 ECZ 37578 AU58 EDJ & 32206 LT52 WTM.
So anyway i got to Market Gates and i saw 33811 YX63 LJY on the X1 to Lowestoft and 33813 YX63 LKA also on the X1 to Norwich, on an X1 short!
So i decided to get on 33813 to Norwich, as we arrived at Norwich i quickly jumped off to get a picture, but unfortunately by the time i had got off the driver had changed the screen to not in service, anyway here is the picture i got.
I have to say the livery is amazing but its the buses that let it down, when the X1 Enviro400's first started in September/October last year i loved them but now they have just got worse, they are loud, from a distance they sound like Presidents, and that is not a nice sound at all, the seats are to big and they are just not comfortable at all. The screens i like, i like the calling at destination. But other than that these buses are just horrible! Personally i would've gone for Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini 2's, they would be much better than the Enviro400's.
As i left again on 33813 i saw 37569 AU58 ECN pull in on the X2 bound for Lowestoft, i hadn't yet got a picture of her so i jumped up and took a picture from the back window, here it is:
I really like these, the seats are lovely, a bit scratched and some have graffiti over them but other than that these are just amazing buses, if i were to go to Kings Lynn or Peterborough i would much rather it be one of these ex X1 Geminis other than one of the horrible new X1 Enviro400's, anyway thats all from me today, i will be out and about in Yarmouth & Norwich tomorrow so i will get a post up about it tomorrow night.

Great post, Cameron - can I link to it freom mine please buddy. Your review of the E400's is extremely well written and in my view accurate.
As i have already said,if these buses are as bad as you and others have said, perhaps they should be pulled off and used as townies or city buses, and i repeat perhaps 36166 to 36180 should step up to the front,to do the job, with the best of 37563 to 37579 until others can be found,i really must get up to Lowestoft for a trip through to Norwich or even onto Peterboro,i really can't understand why these are so bad,Steve W has already stated what he thinks of these, and others have also said how poor they are against the B9.
Just to add i have riden all the types of buses & coaches used on the 94/794/X1 over the years and as time has gone on with each new type that has found their way onto this service, there has been a steady improvement in quality, sadly though i never felt that the B7 coach was up to the mark and the B7 Deckers struggled, now they are noisey, but,i couldn't help but like those when they were new, good looking bus too.,perhaps First should try the Scania chassis with the E400 body, perhaps that's why Stagecoach has done that because of problems with the Trident
Personally, I doubt First will want to spend £4,000 a unit repainting twenty-two buses which are less than a year old even if they are awful. The Enviro400s were a mistake, and it goes without saying they will never survive the five years their predecessors did. I would rather sit on a Trident President through to Peterborough than one of those heaps, at least I would be able to see over the seats!
I think I need to do some travelling to compare Scanias and Dennis's. Couldn't do it in a day though so would mean a night away. What I will say is the recent Scania gas bus Anglian had on an E300 body was again not up to scratch and no one liked it. I'm convinced it's the bodies more than the chassis that is the problem.
Yes Sam! I totally agree!
